Chapter 1
Flashback to Vash winning a duel with an old guy
Training montage
Present: Vash has just shot Legato's limiting device
Parts of the ship are coming apart
An aerial shot of Vash and Legato charging towards each other
Chunks of debris are coming down
Legato dodges
Vash dodges
Vash's defense-system feather comes towards Legato, STRAIGHT FOR HIS EYE!
The feather stops RIGHT AT HIS EYEBALL
Then flicks up and down in front of him
2-page spread of Legato evading the feather
Vash gasps
Legato has somehow maneuvered to be standing right behind him...
Meanwhile, back in the city, Chronika is fighting not to land on top of the city
The ship crashes a good ways away from where Knives is
Meanwhile, Legato has Vash under his control again
The feather defense system sizzles away as Legato points a gun at Vash's head
Legato's eyes go wide...
Vash...can...MOVE!
A blade comes out of Legato's gun, which would have decapitated Vash, but he DODGED!
Vash spins on his foot,
wrenching Legato's hand painfully
Vash parries Legato's gun with his own
They both jump back,
but soon both are advancing again!
But Vash is slow because of Legato's control
Legato gets up first, and points the gun at Vash's head!
I believe that Vash's defense system begins attacking and blocking shots coming from Legato's gun
vash puts his fake arm up to block Legato's gun, slicing through his hand
Then it slices right through the rest of his prosthetic arm
Vash pulls out the machine gun in his arm...
Legato has a flashback
Suddenly, Vash pushes Legato back with one arm and OPENS FIRE WITH HIS MACHINE GUN!
Legato falls to the ground
Vash puts the muzzle of his revovler to Legato's head
Legato is ready to die
Vash lifts his gun away from Legato's head
Legato is like, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS! and grabs the gun, shoving against his forehead
Legato begins threatening Vash with the townspeople and his allies...
Suddenly a very dead Elandira with a very skewered Livio show up
Zombie Elandira has her hand at Livio's throat
Vash thinks of Wolfwood (such a cool picture...)
And fires...
Chapter 2
Razlo tries to wake up Livio
And watches as Vash shoots Legato
Elandira falls backwards, Livio comes to
Vash falls to his knees at Legato's feet
His arm and jacket are sizzling
He looks at the dead man before him
Livio struggles to free himself from Elandira's nail
Vash smiles, but looks absolutely destroyed
Chunks of debris are coming down around Vash
Livio swoops in and grabs him over his shoulder
Vash is crying, still trying to smile
Meanwhile, the small fleet is passing by Knives
They launch a cable into the ark
They realize that Knives is watching the space fleet, who have begun their final plan of action...
Conversation
Milly finds Vash
They land
Meryl's the first one out
Livio explains what happened
She lifts Vash's head and places him gently on her lap
Vash is looking up
He sees Knives and raises his arm to fire
Meryl grabs his hand and brings it down
Meanwhile, the large ships are converging on Knives
Meryl looks up at the sky
Panse says they're ready for the transmission
The small fleet is linked together with cables
Luida orders the operators to go!
Knives is creating energy balls, but suddenly shudders
Suddenly, a feather falls into the crowd on the ground...
Chapter 3
Flashback to the great fall
Sleeping chambers are busted
One man is injured
Plants are dead
One plant has survived
Soooo many sleeping chambers are destroyed
Everyone is dead
Only one man and one plant remain
Present: The ships are gathering around Knives
Energy swirls around Knives
EXPLOSION!
The smoke clears, Knives is even more monstrous than before
He is creating balls and discs of energy...
Flashback, survivors are trying to get the plant to produce water
It works!
Present: the cables are set
Down in the crowd, a little girl cries
A feather hits her forehead
Everyone around her turns around, as if feeling what she is feeling
They find her mother
Everyone is like, whoah...
Flashback: Fighting over water
Baracades go up to protect the plant
Small settlements develope
Cities grow around the plant
Present: again Knives shudders
He looks down...
EXPLOSION!
Conversation on the small ship
Knives seems disoriented, the ship prepares another volley
Plant Memories! Fighting
Killing
A religious temple grows around one
Lots more memories...
Present: the space fleet is ready to attack!
Chapter 4
The fleets are preparing to fire
Knives watches
The small fleet is begging for them to wait
They are in between the city and the ships
Meryl, Milly, et al are watching to see if the communications have any affect at pulling the ark apart
back into individual plants
Vash has a metaphysical moment...
The humans continue to send transmissions
There is a small break in the hull of the ark
A BLAST OF LIGHT
The ships are gearing up to deliver the final blow...
Knives absorbs the blast, then destroys all the ships!
Debris begins to rain down on the planet
Knives is more fearful than ever...
Back on the small ship, everyone is flipping out except for the insurance girls
Knives screams, Meryl's helmet shatters
Vash surges up, his fist clenched!
Chapter 5
Vash is still in the afterworld (?)
He hears Meryl talking and comes back
A feather lands on his face
He tries to move, but can't
Suddenly, Knives screams!
Vash sits up!
Meanwhile, Knives is being questioned by the plants
Meanwhile, on the top of the small ship, Vash holds a cable in his hand
The ark begins to descend
Vash is about to stick the cord in his neck to directly communicate with the plants
Just as Vash is about to make contact, the ark's head-thing SCREAMS
Throwing Vash back
He scrambles for the cable and tries again
Knives sees what he's doing
Vash shoves the cable at his neck
Everyone involved looks to be in excruciating pain
The ark begins to break apart...
Feathers are falling everywhere
Meryl reaches out as Vash tumbles over
Knives is all, AAAAAAAHHHHH!
The ark continues to disintegrate
Knives cuts the cable in two
Vash is laying on the deck of the small ship
Feathers are falling all around him
Chapter 6
Feathers fall onto the people in the crowd
A feather falls on Meryl's helmet
She takes her helmet off and sees Vash toasting a plant, then another memory
Then she has a flashback of when she was trapped underneath Vash and Hoppard (Volume 5?)
She tries to be strong, but she's still afraid
Vash sees her trying and thanks her
Memories memories memories...
Everyone sees...Vash!
Meanwhile, the ark has completely disintegrated
Knives tries in vain to hold onto one of his sisters, but the rest pull her down with them
Big, feathery explosion
There are now plants EVERYWHERE
The humans try to save the plants
A man picks up a feather and attempts to transmit his thoughts through the feather to the plant
It works!
The plants are being taken care of by the humans
Meanwhile, back on the small ship, Vash promises Meryl that he will return
Then he jumps out and lands on the ground in front of Knives...
Without the energy from his sisters, Knives looks...a little...melty
Chapter 7
Vash has a flashback to his final moments with Rem
before he faces his brother
Knives is reconstructing his body
Vash has ONE. BULLET. LEFT.
Knives creates a sickle-sword thing to fight Vash
They approach each other
Conversation
Flashback
FIGHT!
They spin around each other
Vash has his gun to Knives' head
Then lifts it...straight...up...
Flashback
Vash uses his last bullet to counter a direct attack from one of the space ships
However, Knives took the same moment to run Vash through with his sword-thing
The ship crashes into the ground
Then Vash takes off, holding Knives!
But this uses up Vash's last shred of power and one of his wings begins to disintegrate
Suddenly Knives sprouts a wing to right themselves
Chronika aims again at the two, but before she can fire, she's assailed with bullets!
Livio is like nu-uh-uh!
Wolfwood makes a cameo!
Everybody looks on as Vash and Knives fly into the sunset
Chapter 8
An old saloon is surrounded by earth vehicles
Conversation
Vash goes down a tube to escape
Flashback to Knives holding a very-near-death Vash
The kid has a flashback
Vash thinks, then smiles
The man and son are being threatened by the earthers
Vash pops out of a man-hole
The earthers are about to open fire...when VASH JUMPS ON ONE OF THEM!
And runs around firing and screaming at the top of his lungs...until he runs into...
A TON OF BOUNTY HUNTERS!
The bounty hunters and the earthers begin to fight
He meets up with the insurance girls!
Who are now...apparently...reporters
Meryl and Milly broadcast Vash's zombie face all across the world
A surprising number of his friends have survived...
Vash runs, then smiles,
Then keeps on running into the desert...
